REYNOLDS BEAL (American, 1866-1951) “GREEN APPLES FOR EVERYONE”. Mixed media circus scene shows outdoor scene with green apples being wheeled by a man and his two-wheeled cart. Several other performers are seen outside the big top under a tree and blue & white cloud sky. A large lion banner is scene on the right under flags atop of the tent. Signed lower right “Reynolds Beal 1936 Cole Bros. Circus”. Housed in a magnificent carved & gilt double frame with glass and cream silk matte. On reverse is an exhibition label from the Cahoon Museum of American Art exhibition entitled “Dusty Glory: The Circus in American Art”.
