*RARE MARTIALLY MARKED COLT BULLSEYE MATCH TARGET SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. SN MT14691. Cal. 22 LR. Blue finish with 6-5/8″ flat side bbl with adjustable front & rear sights and rampant Colt, checkered, extended brown plastic grips. Left side of bbl has bullseye target surmounted by “MATCH/TARGET”. It is marked on left front edge of frame “THE WOODSMAN / U.S. PROPERTY” with usual markings on slide. Right side of frame has the “GHD” inspector initials. Serial number is located on front strap rather than on edge of butt as is usually found on bullseye match target pistols. This model of pistol was created primarily for the Navy & Marine Corps for practice and was sold as surplus in the 1960’s & 70’s. Accompanied by a hand tooled flap holster with acorn & oak leaf patterns. CONDITION: Pistol is extremely fine, retaining 98-99% strong orig factory blue with only very faint muzzle edge wear.
