CONTINENTAL CLASSICAL REVIVAL CAST-BRASS AND MARBLE MANTEL CLOCK. Mid-19th century. The rectangular architectural marble case applied with cast-brass anthemion leaves, the pediment cornice cast with leaftips, surmounted by a cast-patinated metal figure of a winged boy seated on a rock plinth. The silvered dial with Roman numeral chapter ring within a reeded brass bezel, the whole raised on a cast scrolling base. The brass time-and-strike movement unmarked. SIZE: 22″ h. x 11-1/2″ overall w. x 6″ d. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Marble case with several small cracks. Otherwise very good. 9-93329 (1,500-2,500)
