CHINESE CAST BRONZE CENSOR. Late 18th, early 19th century. Of rectangular form with swelled sides, the ends cast with foo dog ring handles. Four legs headed with conforming foo dog masks. Sides of censor decorated with scrolling cloud bands. Fitted to stepped hard wood stand. Lid of scrolling pierced vinery with small jade knop. SIZE: 14″ h x 10-1/2″ l x 6-1/2″ w. CONDITION: Structurally very good with dark color and good patina. Carved lid with small losses and soot build up from use. 9-22755 (2,000-3,000)
