22″ PHENIX BEBE DOLL. 1890s closed mouth French doll incised near neck socket “*93” with open/closed mouth with slight space between lips with partial view of tongue tip, blue-gray paperweight eyes, evenly feathered eyebrows, well modeled ears on a fully jointed French wood and composition body stamped on the torso “Le Petit Parisien BEBE STEINER Medaille D’or Paris 1889”. She is well redressed in a two piece cream wool costume with pleated center panel. Wig is a newer ash blonde human hair wig and her shoes are brown leather with replaced soles. SIZE: 22″ (56cm). CONDITION: Good. Faint hairline on left side of forehead. Arms and hands, although old, are of from a different mfg. 1-9326 (1,000-2,000)
