LOUIS HOTTOT (French 1834-1905), PATINATED METAL FIGURAL CALLING CARD RECEIVER. Last quarter 19th century. This cast-spelter statue of a Middle Eastern man with mustache and turban holding an engraved and embossed oval serving tray, standing on a circular plinth simulating a mosaic floor. The whole is polychrome paint-decorated in the manner of an Austrian cold-painted bronze. Signed on upper edge of plinth “L. Hottot”. SIZE: 19″ h. PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Geraldine Gaba, Scottsdale, AZ. CONDITION: Structurally very good, with original surfaces and old patina. With wear to painted surfaces. 9-94852 (300-500)
