EXTRAORDINARY 29″ FATHER CHRISTMAS IN SLEIGH WITH FOUR REINDEER. Unrivaled, this exceptional as well as dramatic Santa seated in a loofa sleigh mounted upon a wheeled wooden plank and drawn by four papier mache reindeer. The reindeer themselves with intricate trappings, lead antlers, flocked bodies, and painted eyes are ready to dash off into the night sky for the Christmas time journey. Original cardboard box with an F.A.O. Schwartz label as well as manufacturer’s label (Made in Germany) are included with this toy. Circa 1893 as evidenced by date on box stating 93 11/6. SIZE: 29″ long. PROVENANCE: Of the Beverly Weir-Longacre collection. CONDITION: Overall condition very good plus, paint loss/flaking to hooves, papier mache, yokes, and papier mache Santa.
