FINE US COLT SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal 45LC. SN 137142. 7-1/2” rnd bbl. Standard markings on bbl and frame including “US” on left side of frame. Left grip is dated “1891” over the “SEB” cartouche. Blunt’s cartouche is on left side of grip. There is also a letter from John Kopec authenticating this revolver and speculating that it might be one of the guns stolen from Troop K of the 8th Calvary, October 26, 1892. This revolver was not listed, but several in the same serial number range were. Kopec bases the speculation on the fact that the gun has not been converted as all that were in service less than a year later were reworked to artillery revolvers.
