*BEAUTIFUL ENGRAVED WINCHESTER MODEL 52C SPORTER. Cal. 22 LR. SN 97113C. Beautiful Arnold Griebel engraved Sporter with 24″ tapered rnd bbl, ramp front sight with hood & no provision for a rear bbl sight. Receiver mounted with a Lyman 48F receiver sight. Mounted in straight grain American walnut with triple diamond checkered forestock with black tip & checkered pistol grip butt with Monte Carlo cheekpiece, 13-3/4″ over a checkered hard rubber buttplate. Stock has deluxe bases & swivels. Receiver has full coverage game scene engraving with three large vignettes of an eagle chasing a duck over the front bridge, squirrel on a limb on left side of a rear bridge & a raccoon on right side. There is a large vignette of a wild turkey in a forest scene over chamber area of bbl & two large raised gold inlaid diamond-back rattlers with stippled background about 4″ up the bbl & there are three raised gold rabbits on each side of bbl below front sight. There are two narrow & one medium gold band at the muzzle. Engraving is all deep relief with stippled background & completely surrounded with beautifully executed foliate arabesque patterns. Bolt handle, sight base & grip cap, along with the deluxe swivel bases are engraved to match. Bolt knob has 6-panel teardrop checkering. Trigger guard has a small vignette of a groundhog & floorplate a running rabbit all surrounded with foliate arabesque patterns. Accompanied by a brief biography of Arnold Griebel. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Retains virtually all of its fine custom finish to both metal & wood. Crisp mechanics, bright shiny bore. 4-55448 JR95 (3,000-5,000)
