FRANK H. DESCH (American, 1873-1934) EVENING REFLECTIONS. Outstanding oil on canvas evening scene shows a lovely young woman dressed in a pink evening gown with sheer pink shawl. She is seated next to white flowers reflecting some pink from her dress and she is gazing down at a small garden pool which reflects the unseen full moon. Light shines from the right side cascading light onto her left side. Signed lower right. Housed in a fine carved and gilt modern replacement frame. Frank H. Desch was born in Philadelphia and studied under William M. Chase and Charles Hawthorne. He was a member of the Provincetown Art Association where he exhibited regularly beginning in 1915 until 1934. This is an outstanding example of his work. SIZE: 32-1/2″ x 26″. CONDITION: Relined, new stretcher, restored with inpainting. Very good. 9-99268 (7,500-10,000)
