DOOR OF HOPE “MALE YOUTH”. A fine youth attired in a fanciful silken outfit (no fading to silk) with “frogs” enclosing his printed silken coat. Painted hair with long braided queue running down his back, a small dab of hide glue has held his cue intact. Youth still retains his original “Made in China” string tag. One of five examples of the famed Door of Hope dolls that are “fresh” to the market. They had been packed away for the last 40+ years in a Midwestern house and just recently the daughter decided to part with her mothers treasures. SIZE: 9-1/4″ h. CONDITION: Near mint original condition, almost imperceptible split to silken coat at front seam. 1-9448 (900-1,100)
