FABERGE HINGED CIGARETTE BOX. Wonderful Russian silver box has simple plain design with overlapping leaf pattern encircling the sides with plain silver front and back. Front of box is set with an intaglio carved and reverse painted cabochon depicting a bulldog. Bulldog is set within a yellow gold frame. Front of box is hallmarked “84” within a square “H.W.” for H. Wigstrom and a city mark. Back of box is hallmarked “Faberge” with a city mark and “84”. Interior of box is hallmarked “H W”. There is also a scrolled initial on inside of box “P D”. SIZE: 3-3/8” x 2-1/8”. CONDITION: Paint on bulldog appears to have some minor lifting, otherwise very good. 5-64607 (4,000-6,000)
