*SCARCE WINCHESTER TRANSITION MODEL 70 SUPER GRADE BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 22 Hornet. SN 71187. Fine 1946 production Model 70 with 24″ tapered rnd bbl, ramp front sight missing the hood & slot blank in rear dovetail. Receiver is mounted with Redfield Jr. base & rings containing a Redfield 3-9X scope. Mounted with 1-pc straight grain American walnut stock with large checkering, black forend tip & deluxe sling swivel bases with cheekpiece, 13-5/8″ over a checkered steel buttplate. CONDITION: Very good plus. All matching, bbl & receiver retain 97-98% strong orig blue with minor edge wear. Floorplate retains about 95% thinning orig blue. Wood is sound with minor nicks & scratches and retains most of its orig factory varnish. Crisp mechanics, bright shiny bore. 4-55446 JR93 (2,500-4,000)
