*1902 LUGER CARBINE. Cal 30 Luger. SN 23896. Usual configuration with 11-3/4” bbl, silver blade ramp front sight, 300 meter rear sight with small, schnable tipped, checkered forearm without sling loop and full checkered wood grips with an unmarked wood base magazine. It is accompanied by an original, unusual carbine stock that has a checkered straight wrist and slightly curved belly with a very fine checkered butt. It is also made without a sling loop. Each side of the frame is fitted with a small oval stud and a small recess, reportedly for a scope mount. CONDITION: Very fine. All matching including the forearm which has the last three numbers of the serial number stamped in the inside channel. Stock is unnumbered but in appearance and condition exactly match the rest of the gun. Bbl and receiver retain 98-99% strong original blue. Frame retains about 95% strong original blue with a touched up area on the left side. Retains 50-60% original straw colors slightly faded. Safety is a dark patina. Forearm is sound and retains about 95% original varnish. Stock is sound and retains 93-95% original varnish with numerous small scratches and mars to the finish. Magazine is exceptionally fine. Strong bright bore, dark in the grooves and frosted on the lands. Grips are fine with some bruises. An extremely fine example of a hard to find Luger. 4-50316 JR231 (12,000-15,000)
