**A.H. FOX CE GRADE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN WITH KRUPP STEEL BARRELS. . SN 16325. Cal. 12 ga, 30″ Krupp steel bbls, matted tapered concave rib with brass front and white center sighting beads, FULL/FULL choke, 2-3/4″ chambers, ejectors & dbl triggers made without safety. Top of right bbl is marked “KRUPP FLUID STEEL MADE BY” and left “A.H. FOX GUN CO. PHILA PA”. Sides of each bbl at chamber have about 1-1/2″ wedge of open scroll engraving. Receiver is engraved in “C” pattern with oval on left side, with 2 feeding quail in opposite directions with banner “ANSLEY H. FOX” over top. Right side oval with 2 feeding snipe in opposite directions with banner of “ANSLEY H. FOX” over top. Bottom center has circle with setter on point, with trigger plate and balance of receiver being a foliate scroll. Top tang is made without safety and engraved with some geometric scroll. Mounted with nicely figured walnut, checkered side panels, checkered straight grip, Silvers type solid red recoil pad, and checkered splinter forend. Bore diameter: left -.725, right -.725. Bore restrictions: left -.034, right -.036. Wall thickness: left -.035, right -.034. Drop at heel: 2-5/8″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Weight: 7lbs. 12oz. LOP 14″. Accompanied with J.T. Callahan letter identifying as CE grade, 12 ga., 30″ choked FULL/FULL, walnut stock, 14″ LOP, 1-5/8″ drop at comb, 2-5/8″ drop at heel, straight grip, weighing 7lbs 11oz. Under notes “tip jars-not catch, no safety”, (from reverse of card) bore out stock. Gun was shipped from Philadelphia June 1, 1910 orig consignee, E.R. Parker – no address. Also accompanying gun are repro Fox tags verifying above information. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retain 97-98% orig blue with just some very slight muzzle wear, and a few minor typical handling marks. Receiver shows strong orig case colors, under what appears to be a coat of dried preservative, slightly silvering across bottom, but strong on sides & across top. Trigger guard shows good orig blue across bow with some silvering in grip area. Stock is sound with tiny chip behind top tang, good checkering, minor nicks & dings & light scratches, and what appears to be orig finish that has been rubbed and cleaned. Forend is sound with good checkering, some minor chips at tip, a few minor handling marks, and retains orig finish. Forend latch & exposed forend metal retain good orig blue. Triggers are crisp, made without safety, strong ejectors, bright shiny bores, as gun appears to have seen only a little use. 4-39137 BDT46 (4,000-6,000)
