*TEXAS LAW ENFORCEMENT USED EARLY COLT GOVERNMENT MODEL SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. SN C48413. This pistol was used by James Richard Toone, born 1868, died 1949. He was the City Marshall of Waxahachie, TX and carried it during his law enforcement career. The pistol is blue finish with 5″ bbl, fixed sights, all 1911 features and with wonderful thick pearl grips. It is accompanied by a Ben Varga quick-draw belt holster with basket weave tooling, marked on the back with the maker’s name and “San Antonio, Tex.” Also accompanying is a signed letter from Becky Toone Davis, Mr. Toone’s great-granddaughter stating that this pistol belonged to her great-grandfather. CONDITION: Fine. Slide retains 75-80% thin orig blue turning plum. Frame retains about 85-90% orig blue, strong in the sheltered areas, thin on the grip frame.
