UNSIGNED (American, Mid 19th Century) THREE-QUARTER PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG BOY WITH PUPPY. Oil on canvas shows a child depicted with curly hair, in a green lace-trimmed jacket with short sleeves, and green plaid pants, posing with a white dog on lead, with a toy horse behind, and holding a riding crop. Housed in a period original repainted molded red washed and grained frame. SIZE: 30” x 25”. CONDITION: Restored and re-stretched with over painting on proper left arm, and two round repairs in the background, left side facing, now overpainted. 9-90780 MD (7,000-10,000)
