*REMINGTON PARKER CONTINUATION AAHE GRADE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN WITH CASE. SN P242515. Cal. 28ga, 26″ bbls, matted, tapered, concave rib, dual ivory sighting beads, 2-3/4″ chambers, ejectors and single selective trigger. Chamber area of each bbl has 2-3/4″ wedge of foliate scroll with shaded background. The “00” frame is beautifully engraved in AA style with flowing foliate scrolls with shaded background, a strutting ruff grouse on left side, mother grouse with 4 chicks on right, flushing grouse on trigger plate and “PARKER” in gold across bottom center. Fences with single bead and foliate scroll as well as top lever and tang with full coverage scroll engraving. The long tang trigger guard is fully engraved with floral and foliate scroll. Mounted with exhibition walnut, checkered side panels, fleur-de-lis checkered straight grip, checkered butt with fully engraved skeleton plate, blank gold oval, fully checkered beavertail forend. Inside forend iron, bbl flats, water table and standing breech are finely jeweled. Bore diameter: left -.547, right -.548. Bore restrictions: left -NA, right -NA. Wall thickness: left -.030, right -.030. Drop at heel:2-3/8″, drop at comb:1-7/16″. Weight: 6lbs. 2oz. LOP 14-1/8″. Gun is accompanied by a Remington invoice to the Ruff Grouse Society, Inc. identifying gun and invoiced at $49,000. Also, a letter from Remington signed by Product Manager John R. Fink dated July 3, 2008. Summary of letter of authentication stating that in October 2005 Remington announced the resumption of Parker AAHE 28 gauge, also stating that Remington had resumed building these guns one at a time to the exacting dimensions of the buyer’s preference with some choice of engraving in particular areas but limited to variations that kept intact the AAHE style. Goes on to state that they have completed seven guns to date beginning with serial number P242510, which is our sample gun with splinter forend, dbl triggers and straight stock. Parker gun P242515 was ordered by Ruffed Grouse Society on March 9, 2007. This gun was ordered as a skeet gun and is only the second skeet configuration gun to be ordered or built. The gun features 26″ bbls with twin beads, SKEET AND SKEET choke. The stock is straight hand grip with beavertail forend and highly figured exhibition grade American walnut with single selective trigger and automatic safety. Orig dimensions are 14-1/2″ LOP, 2-3/8″ Drop at Heel, 1-1/2″ Drop at Comb, no cast, 4 degrees of pitch. The gun is engraved consistent with AAHE coverage featuring a grouse in flight on bottom of frame, a grouse with tail fanned on left and a sitting grouse on right side of frame. The Ruffed Grouse Society raffled this gun as a fund-raiser in April 2008. Mr. Seth Cosans subsequently was awarded gun P242515 and took possession in May 2008 at a ceremony held at the Ruffed Grouse Society headquarters in Coraopolis, PA. Gun is accompanied with oak & leather case, maroon interior with label inside lid “PARKER AAHE 28 GAUGE ILION, NY P242515”, and brown canvas cover with leather trim. Included in the above-mentioned letter it states that a total of about 1,800 Parker 28 gauge guns were made with only 5 of these archived in AAHE Grade. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as gun appears unfired since manufactured. Gun retains virtually all of its fine factory blue, beautiful case coloring and fine, hand-rubbed finish. Mechanics are crisp with automatic safety, strong ejectors, bright shiny new bores as gun appears new since manufacture. Case and cover are in equally new condition. 4-40576 BDT103 (32,500-42,500)
