*RARE COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 357 Magnum. SN 356926. Rare pre-war 357 with blue & case colored finish, 7-1/2” bbl, slightly altered thick front sight with rampant Colt hard rubber grips. Serial number is stamped on right side of front & backstraps, under grip, and the last two digits of serial number are on back of cyl. Only a few of these 357 caliber single actions were actually made by Colt, this appears to be one of them and is authentic in every way. Accompanied by a Colt Factory letter addressed to Mr. Ronald M. Graham, fully identifying this revolver as found, type of stocks not listed. It lists shipment on Feb. 1, 1940 to Cook, Newton & Smith, Inc., New Haven, CT. Also accompanied by a letter of appraisal from James & Guns, Inc., Glendale, AZ, dated 4-30-97. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl & ejector rod housing retain 96-97% glossy orig blue with some slight edge wear and some slight thinning with a spot of touch-up at left side of muzzle. Cyl retains about 95% strong, orig blue and the frame retains most of its orig case colors, moderately faded. Hammer has bright polished sides and retains most of its dulled niter blue on back edge. Triggerguard & backstrap retain about 50% orig blue with front & backstraps a blue/brown patina with some light pitting on sides of frame, under the grips.
