LOT OF RARE NASH BUCKINGHAM MATERIAL INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPT FOR HIS BOOK “TATTERED COAT”; A PUTNAM LIMITED EDITION OF “TATTERED COAT” AND THE BOOK “MR. BUCK THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF NASH BUCKINGHAM”. 1) The original manuscript for Tattered Coat consists of about 200 pages of dbl spaced typewritten text with green foolscap typewritten title & cover pages, pages & pages of yellowed typewritten bond paper with numerous other pages of illustrations from various previous Buckingham articles along with text from these articles, all of which were apparently compiled to become one of Mr. Buckingham’s most famous books. 2) Putnam Limited Edition, #188 of Tattered Coat, hard cover with linen cloth cover that has a colorful illustration on front cover of hanging birds, a hunting coat & hat, signed A.D. Fuller. The label on the spine is also on applied paper. The book is 210 pages with wonderful ink line drawing illustrations and a fly leaf picture of Mr. Buckingham in coat, tie & hat kneeling with his beloved springer, Chubby. Inside front page states that this is #188 of 995 copies and is personally autographed by Nash Buckingham. The book also contains several pages of photographs of various people, dogs & places. 3) Deluxe hard cover Executive Edition, #119 of 250 of Mr. Buck The Autobiography of Nash Buckingham which was compiled from notes and articles posthumously, either by or with the cooperation of Irma Buckingham O’Falon, Mr. Buckingham’s daughter. The book has gold embossed burgundy leatherette binding with ribbed spine and deluxe slip cover. It contains 276 pages plus bibliography and includes numerous pictures and reproduced correspondences. The fly leaf has an orig artist signed etching of Nash Buckingham and a dog retrieving a bird. CONDITION: 1) Manuscript is mostly yellowed with some tattered edges but intact as found. 2) Slightly worn edges but protected by a clear Lucite cover. Pages are slightly yellowed. 3) Crisp & new with brilliant cover and slip case. 4-39773 (8,000-12,000)
