RUDOLPH BELARSKI (American, 1900-1983) OUTDOOR LIFE, 1949 COVER ILLUSTRATION. Oil on canvas hunting scene shows a man wearing a red plaid jacket and red hunters cap kneeling with a rifle aiming at a bull moose near a pond on grassy bank. The other hunter holds a birch bark moose call and is calling in the moose. Signed middle right. Housed in a stained oak molded wood frame. A fine example of a sportsman cover from a national magazine by a noted illustrator. SIZE: 29″ x 26″. CONDITION: 2″ x 2″ L-shaped tear in the left hand corner, surface dirt, original canvas, small puncture in right hand corner. Scrape in upper border. 9-20377 (3,000-5,000)
