PARKER BROTHERS LIFTER ACTION O GRADE HAMMER GUN. SN 9848. Cal. 10ga, 32″ bbls, tapered concave rib with single silver sighting bead, 2-9/16″ chambers, extractors and dbl triggers. Rib of bbl is marked from chambers “PARKER BROS MAKERS MERIDEN CONN PLAIN TWIST”. The lifter action is not engraved but marked “PARKER BROS” on each plate and trigger plate stamped “PAT’D NOV 13 / MAR 23 1875″. Mounted with plain grain walnut, blank gold shield on top of wrist, uncheckered round-knob pistol grip, smooth steel buttplate, uncheckered splinter forend with single wedge. Bore diameter: left -.792, right -.792. Bore restrictions: left -.025, right -.027. Wall thickness: left -.044, right -.045. Drop at heel:3″, drop at comb:2-1/4″. Weight: 8lbs. 8oz. LOP 14-1/4”. The book Parker Gun Identification and Serialization lists as PT Grade (which is Grade 0 with plain twist bbls), lifter action, pistol grip, 10ga with 32″ bbls. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl retains a strong gray-brown Damascus finish with a few minor nicks & scratches and a couple spots starting to darken. Receiver retains strong orig case colors thinning and blending with silver patina across bolsters and bottom of receiver. Trigger guard retains very good orig blue, silvering on edges, thinning and silvering through grip area. Stock is sound with some minor bumps & bruises, some minor chipping at buttplate and retains a fine open-grain oil finish. Forend is sound with a few small nicks & dings and retains a fine open-grain oil finish. Mechanics are crisp with shiny bores, as gun appears to have seen very little use. 4-40161 BDT116 (2,000-3,000)
