SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1855 RIFLE MUSKET WITH BAYONET. Cal. 58. NSN. 40” part oct bbl. Standard Springfield markings on 1859-dated lockplate. No date is visible on top of bbl. No cartouche is visible on stock. CONDITION: Metal on bbl has been cleaned but light to moderate pitting remains. Unclean parts have moderate pitting overall. Stock has been partially repaired with heavy sanding and refinishing. Mechanically missing feed spring in primer mechanism, otherwise good. The 18-1/2” bayonet has been nickel-plated. Scabbard and frog are reproductions. 4-58720 (1,000-2,000)
