*CUSTOM ANGELO BEE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 3-BBL SET. Cal. 20 ga., 28 ga., & 410. SN 17523. Spectacular Angelo Bee custom exhibition quality set with custom sideplates on the receiver and a total of 31 gold animal inlays. It consists of 26” original 20 ga. bbls and Belgian 26” 28 ga. & 410 bbls. It has beautiful marble cake French walnut stock, 14-5/8” over a Winchester hard rubber buttplate and has matching wood in the three forearms. Each of the bbls has hand matted raised ventilated rib with double ivory beads and each bbl is engraved about 3” over the chambers and 1-1/4” on each side of the muzzles and there is a narrow gold band at each chamber end and at each muzzle end. Each of the chamber areas is inlaid with two gold chukker on the left bbl and two pigeons on the right side. The bbls are numbered in gold at the end of the rib, “1”, “2” and “3”. All three forends have Model 21 type releases and all three sets are choked MOD/IMPCYL. The receiver and sideplates have extraordinary engraving with elaborately detailed gold animals consisting of a setter and pointer on point with four flushing quail on the left side. The pointer has a platinum body with gold ears & gold spots and one of the quail has a platinum throat. They are set in a wonderfully detailed farm field scene with rail fences and a building in the background. This sideplate is signed “A BEE” and it also has his trademark bumblebee. The left forward side of the receiver has an oval vignette of two feeding quail in a farmland scene with rail fence and trees. Both quail have platinum throats. The right sideplate has a pointer & setter on point with two flushing gold partridge set in a fabulous field scene with rail fence & trees. Both dogs have platinum bodies with gold ears & gold spots. The right front side of the receiver has an oval vignette of a flying partridge in a woodland scene with platinum bars in the bird’s tail. The floorplate is fabulously engraved with five elaborately detailed landing gold mallards in a marsh scene. Four of the birds have platinum underbodies. The trigger bow is sculpted and carved with filigree cutout and has a flying gold quail. All the engraving is surrounded with full coverage, deep foliate arabesque patterns with very fine punch dot background. All of the iron on the forends is engraved to match and the opening lever is foliate filigree cut out. The fences have deep relief oak leaf & acorn patterns. The back half of each sideplate has a gold wire inlay. It is fitted with gold plated single selective trigger & has ejectors on all three sets of bbls. The water table & standing breech are nicely jeweled. This set was reportedly created by master engraver Angelo Bee for his prospective brother-in-law. It is accompanied by a beautiful French fitted, red suede lined oak & leather Huey case with compartments for all the bbls & stocked receiver and also contains a round, gold plated oil bottle along with gold plated snap caps for each of the three calibers. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine. Retains virtually all its wonderful custom finish to both metal & wood with brilliant shiny bores in all three sets of bbls.
