*CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN FOX FE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal 20ga. SN F205533. Fabulous Galazan recreation of the famous Fox shotgun with 28” bbls, choked MOD/IMP CYL with tapered matted rib and double ivory beads. The bbls are engraved “MADE TO ORDER A.H. FOX” on the right bbl, and “CHROMOX FLUID STEEL” on the left. It is mounted in spectacular Circassian honey and chocolate walnut forearm stock, 14-3/4” over a skeleton buttplate. The forearm and wrist have beautiful fleur-de-lis pattern checkering. The stock has raised checkered fleur-de-lis side panels with tiny teardrops, and the forearm has a black insert schnable tip. The stock has large round knob diamond-shaped grip. It is fitted with ejectors and gold-plated double triggers. The boxlock receiver has triple scalloped back edges, and is completely covered in extremely fine floral and foliate arabesque pattern engraving. It has 2 gold inlaid quail on the left side, 2 woodcock on the right side, and 2 pheasant on the bottom. The hinge pin, floor plate, and opening lever have gold fine wire inlays and “SAFE” and the SN are inlaid in gold on the top and bottom tangs respectively. The fences are beautifully engraved in Greek key and floral patterns with a reinforcing rib raised carved at the bottom. It has “ANSLEY H. FOX” in a ribbon on each side. The trigger guard, forend iron, buttplate, and about 2-1/2” over the chambers are matching engraved. Each side of the chambers has gold inlaid lightning bolts. It has a gold initial shield on the bottom of the stock with the initials “JCD”. Accompanied by its original, brown leather, red felt lined, trunk case with maker’s label in the lid and contains a square nickeled oil bottle, nickeled snap caps and 2-section ebony and brass wiping rod with implements. Weight 6 lbs 4.0 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as new. May have been fired but retains virtually all of its gorgeous original factory finish to both metal and wood.
