ATTRIBUTED TO OGDEN MINTON PLEISSNER (American, 1905-1983) THE FISHING TRIP. Fine watercolor scene shows two men in a blue canoe paddling in a river with mountain background. Probably a northeastern view. One of the men wears a red shirt, the other a brown light jacket. Their camping gear and equipment is held under a dark blue cloth. Below the canoe, in the water, appears to have a faint signature which is illegible. The size of the watercolor is typical of Pleissner’s work as well as the blue canoe and northeastern river scene. On the reverse side are two watercolor sketches of trees and water. Housed in a modern partial gilt frame with white matte. The back side of the watercolor with the other image is visible via a plexiglass back. SIZE: Sight: 6-1/2″ x 9-1/2″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-99977 (4,000-6,000)
