BRETT JAMES SMITH (AMERICAN, 1958 – ) THE FISHERMAN’S PURSUIT OF THE TROPHY MARLIN. Oil on Masonite sport fishing scene shows a large marlin in deep blue water pursuing a fisherman’s double hook red lure which proceeds through the water above his head. Above the marlin is a school of smaller tuna. Signed lower right and dated “1988”. Housed in a fine weathered wood frame with linen and silver liner. SIZE: 18-3/4″ x 26″. PROVENANCE: Purchased by our consignor directly from the artist in 1989. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 9-99088 (4,000-8,000)
