PARKER BROTHERS LIFTER ACTION GRADE 3 HAMMER SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 3644. Cal. 10ga, 32-1/8″ bbls, tapered concave rib, single brass sighting bead, 2-9/16″ chambers, extractors and dbl triggers. Rib of bbl reading from chamber end “PARKER BROS MAKERS MERIDEN CONN DAMASCUS STEEL”. The lifter action has nicely engraved lock plates, each marked with “PARKER BROS” and fine foliate arabesque scrolls, 3 feeding quail on left side, 2 snipe – one in flight – on right side, portrait of a dog’s head on bottom, trigger plate marked “PAT. NOV. 13. 1866″. Fences are nicely scalloped and fluted. Trigger guard engraved with duck in flight over a marsh scene. Mounted with nicely figured flame-grain walnut, spear tip drop points, blank gold shield on top of wrist, checkered straight grip, checkered butt with skeleton plate, checkered splinter forend with single wedge. Bore diameter: left -..794, right -.794. Bore restrictions: left -.022, right -.022. Wall thickness: left -.031, right -.024. Drop at heel:2-3/4″ , drop at comb:2″ . Weight: 8lbs. 14oz. LOP 14”. Parker Gun Identification and Serialization lists as D Grade, lifter action, 10ga, with 32″ bbls. The D in this serial range is for Damascus steel bbls. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain good visible Damascus pattern, strong brown color on bottom, worn and blending with silver patina in forend area, some minor nicks & dings. Receiver shows 75% strong orig case colors on plates and across top with bottom thinning and blending with silver patina. Stock is sound with nice checkering, normal nicks & dings and retains a fine hand-rubbed oil finish. Forend is sound with nice checkering, normal nicks & scratches and retains a dark, hand-rubbed oil finish.
