WILLIAM THOMSON (American, 20th Century) “FALLEN ROCKET HOMAGE TO WHISTLER”. Casein scene shows a fireworks rocket exploding in the sky showering yellow, white and orange sparks in a nighttime scene. Signed “Thomson” lower right. Housed in a stained wood frame with double white matte. Thomson studied in Connecticut under Ernst Lohrmann, at the Paier Art School, and at the Meriden Trade School. His solo exhibitions include the Van Ward Gallery in Boston and Oqunquit, ME. SIZE: Sight: 13-3/4″ x 11-3/4″. PROVENANCE: Collection of Elwyn Dearborn, Medford, NJ; Portland, ME.
