JEAN LUCE ART DECO DINNER SERVICE FOR EIGHT. Circa 1925. This well known French designer (1895-1964) executed original design dinnerware for passenger ships of the French Line. This Art Deco set features plates of rectangular design, decorated in a green, blue and rust-red plaid pattern on a cream ground with circular recessed centers, each with two printed factory marks, one overlaying the other. Set comprised of eight 10-1/4″ x 8-1/4″ dinner plates, eight 8-3/4″ x 7-1/4″ luncheon plates, eight 7-1/4″ x 6″ salad plates, eight 3-3/4″ dia. cups, and eight 6″ x 5″ saucers (40). SIZE: As noted above. PROVENANCE: Property of a Michigan medical institution. CONDITION: Very good overall. One luncheon plate with single chip at corner. 9-95106 (800-1,200)
