*JAPANESE GRANDPAPPA NAMBU SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. SN 185. Cal. 8 mm Nambu. Fine early Japanese pistol made by the Kayoba Factory Ltd., Tokyo, Japan for commercial distribution. Made with a tiny trigger guard referred to as the peanut guard. It has a front grip safety & full checkered walnut grips with a matching numbered, checkered cherry wood based magazine. Back strap is slotted for shoulder stock. It has a dovetailed barleycorn front sight on a rectangular base & a 500 meter rear sight. Few of these well made pistols survive today. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Miller Estate Collection. CONDITION: Very fine, all numbered parts are matching including magazine & grips. Disassembly was not affected to check for internal matching parts. Overall retains 95-97% strong, bright orig factory blue with a couple small spots of holster wear on bottom of bbl & some light freckles of rust on front & back straps. Grips are sound showing light wear. Magazine is extremely fine. Crisp mechanics, brilliant shiny bore. 4-36216 JR303 (5,000-8,000)
