FRENCH DRESSING SHOE BLACKING TIN SIGN. Truly one of the premiere and definitive examples of early American advertising lithography. This circa late 1870’s sign features a parlor illustration of a family polishing shoes together, flanked by bottles of “French Dressing” and “Satin Polish” on pedestal bases. A pair of draped “Army” and “Navy” flag testimonials above completes the rich graphic presentation of this piece much as it must have over 125 years ago. Lithographed by Kellogg & Bulkeley, Hartford, CT for B.F. Brown & Co., Boston, MA. IMAGE SIZE: 17-3/4” w x 23-1/2” h.
