ERNEST EVAN THOMPSON SETON (American, 1860-1946) “KRAG, THE KOOTENARY RAM”. Graphite drawing shows a big-horn sheep from the neck up. This character is from the short story “Krag, the Kootenay Ram” by Ernest Thompson Seton, from his collection “Lives of the Hunted”. The title character is a Mountain Sheep. Signed with initials “E.S.T.”. Housed in a painted wood frame with cutout matte. Ernest Seton became a noted illustrator of naturalist subjects, especially wildlife. He wrote and illustrated many books on wildlife subjects. SIZE: Sight: 9-1/2″ x 13-1/2″. CONDITION: Examined out of frame, there is a repaired tear that is visible 1″ below matte edge at top center, otherwise very good. 9-24367 (2,000-4,000)
