EXTREMELY RARE FIRST RUN COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY RIMFIRE REVOLVER. Cal. 44 RF Henry. SN 4. Nickel finish with 7-1/2” bbl with conventional rifling as is usually found on the rimfire revolver, slightly thinned front sight with script address with serifs at each end. The orig rimfire frame has the early 2-line patent dates. It has 1st type ejector rod housing with bull’s eye ejector rod head and 1-pc walnut grip. The frame, in the hammer slot & back of cyl, have a tiny “C”. This is one of the approximate 1,800 rimfire 44’s built in period 1875-1880 and certainly one of the first of those built. CONDITION: Fine to very fine, all matching except grips which are unnumbered and may be very old replacements. They fit very well. Overall retains virtually all of its fine, restored, nickel finish turned slightly milky. Grip is fine with minor nicks & scratches & retains about all of its fine varnish finish. Cyl pin is a modern replacement, probably when it was renickeled. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-30609 JR303 (25,000-50,000)
