SCARCE WINCHESTER PROMOTIONAL BRONZE PLAQUE. Heavy limited edition bronze plaque by Paul McCobb of Marblehead, MA, 34” long x 14-1/2” high and weighs about 65 lbs. It is cast with an 1866 Winchester carbine raised in the center with raised Winchester rider and “WINCHESTER” in large letters below the bbl. It has serial number “25” stamped on the bottom tang of the rifle. It is accompanied by its original pine & plywood shipping crate. Accompanying this lot are the instructions for handling & hanging the plaque and also an undated letter from Mr. McCobb identifying this bronze as 1 of 6 with very special oxidized finish vs. the regular polished finish. He states that there are less than 100 of these plaques of all types ever made. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as issued. Retains virtually all of its fine original applied patina.
