*SCARCE SMITH & WESSON FIRST MODEL 44 HAND EJECTOR TRIPLE LOCK DA REVOLVER. SN 10332. Cal. 44 Spcl. Blue finish with 4″ bbl, integral half moon front sight and groove rear sight in top strap. Frame is 5-screw style with square butt mounted with factory made deep gold medallion pearl grips. This model of revolver was in production 1907-1915 with a total of 15,375 produced in that time frame in four different bbl lengths and eight calibers in both blue & nickel finish. PROVENANCE: John Irwin Estate Collection. CONDITION: Fine to very fine, cylinder & bbl are matching, grips are unnumbered. Overall retains 93-94% glossy orig factory blue with holster wear around muzzle and sharp edges. Cylinder has some light flaking in the flutes that is now a medium patina. Right side of frame has a couple of small nicks toward front edge with some minor flaking on left side. Back strap is also lightly flaked. Grips are sound with a couple of minor age lines and retain wonderful fire & color. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-36805 JR136 (2,000-3,000)
