LARGE FRAMED LITHOGRAPHED CARTRIDGE BOARD FOR UMC CARTRIDGES. This early 20th Century lithography advertisement promoting UMC shells and featuring a large vignette of the United States Navy’s great white fleet made most famous by Theodore Roosevelt policy of sending the entire fleet around the world in part to demonstrate to the nations of the world the tremendous might of the United States Navy. Each of the battleships in the image identified in the lower portion of the image printed by the Lindner, Eddy & Clauss Litho Co. New York. SIZE: Image only: Approx. 41″ wide x 27″ tall. CONDITION: Overall equally dispersed soiling and some light staining, worst of which is in the lower right hand corner and along the bottom border. Six or seven nail punctures scattered, mostly along the lower portion of the image and in the border, otherwise generally good. 4-55058 (1,200-1,800)
