MEDIUM SIZE FREDERIC REMINGTON BRONZE “CHEYENNE”. Fine early re-cast believed to have been done in the late 1940’s or early 1950’s depicts an Indian astride a running horse carrying his spear and shield with knife at his waist, executed in great detail. This re-cast was apparently from the orig mold as it retains some of the fine intricate details of the orig unlike the modern recasts being sold today. Consignor states he has been aware of this bronze since about 1952 and was only able to purchase it recently. It measures 20″ high x 24″ long and is mounted on a 1-1/2″ thick green marble base with brass plate on the front. CONDITION: Dusty, in need of a good cleaning & waxing, but very fine. 4-54984 JR693 (1,000-2,000)
