EARLY ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR BY NOTED ILLUSTRATOR JAMES MONTGOMERY FLAGG. Flagg was the originator of what is probably the most famous patriotic recruiting poster ever produced, the “I Want You for the U.S. Army” poster with Uncle Sam. This wonderfully humorous watercolor depicts a dapper dancing black man with large diamond ring and cane, a black man with a white top-hat smoking a cigar taps and claps to the music.
