ORIENTAL CAST BRONZE ELEPHANT AND RIDER. 19th century, probably Chinese. Cast in two parts, depicting an elephant with trappings, a bearded rider with top knot seated astride the elephant. The rider wearing a textured robe tied at waist with three-dimensional leaf embellishments. SIZE: 16″ h x 12-3/4″ l x 6-3/4″ w. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: Very good with appropriate wear to bottom of elephant feet, good color and undisturbed patina. 9-23211 (500-700)
