WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 DELUXE RIFLE. Cal. 40-82. SN 64927. Extremely fine Doug Turnbull restoration, restored to as new condition. It has a special order 28” oct bbl, full magazine, highly figured American walnut with checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with black insert in the grip and a crescent steel buttplate. The bbl has an ivory bead front sight with semi-buckhorn rear sight. During the restoration process the bbl markings were all re-rolled. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum yellow sheet completely identifying this rifle as having been received in the warehouse Feb. 19, 1892 with no shipping date listed. CONDITION: As new, completely restored. Retains virtually all of this wonderful finish to both metal & wood. Blue is the right color with fine sharp edges, the case colors are brilliant and are the correct colors and the wood retains virtually all of its fine restored piano finish. Butt stock has two or three small scratches in the varnish on the left side and minor handling & storage marks elsewhere. A spectacular & beautiful rifle restored to factory specifications.
