MEYERS ROHOWSKY (American, 1900-1974) “LOBSTER COVE, MONHEGAN ISLE”. Oil on canvas. Housed in its original carved and decorated frame. Signed lower left and dated 1946. Signed & inscribed verso in the artist’s hand: “Lobster Cove’ Monhegan Isle. Meyers Rohowsky 7 Washington Place New York City”. SIZE: 12″ x 16″. PROVENANCE: This painting hung in one place on the previous owner’s wall from the late 1940’s when she acquired it as a gift on her first wedding anniversary until 2005, when she sold it. Upstate New York home, then Private Collection, New York City. Another work (titled “On the Alert at Bryant Park – N.Y.C., 1941) by the artist, is presently at the Museum of the City of New York New York City. CONDITION: Very good. 9-25815 (800-1,000)
