GRAPE MAIDEN BOOKENDS. Interesting pair of spelter bookends, each depicting a kneeling nude maiden with basket of grapes offering a handful of grapes to the face of a smiling god with grapeleaf and grape headdress. The bookends are finished in a bronze patina and are each signed “Carlier”. Bookends also each carry an applied metal tag impressed “Fabrication Francaise Paris Made in France”. SIZE: Each 6″ l. x 7-1/4″ h. CONDITION: Very good to excellent, with some very minor to the patina. 5-67754 (400-600)
