*VERY SCARCE ITHACA FLUES 6E GRADE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 323401. Cal. 16ga, 28″ bbls, matted tapered rib with dual ivory sighting beads, IMP.MOD/IMP.CYL chokes, 2-3/4″ chambers, ejectors and dbl triggers. Top of right bbl is marked “ITHACA GUN CO.” and left “ITHACA, N.Y. USA”. Chamber end has 1″ wedge of bold foliate scroll. Receiver is engraved with bold floral and foliate scroll with shaded background, gold setter on left, gold pointer on right. Top of trigger plate is marked “MADE IN / USA” over a spread-wing eagle clutching 3 arrows. Mounted with very highly figured black walnut, checkered side panels with fleur-de-lis, checkered pistol grip with fleur-de-lis, sculpted hard rubber grip cap with checkered center, Ithaca hard rubber buttplate, blank gold initial shield, checkered splinter forend with ebony tip insert. Bore diameter: left -.661, right -.657. Bore restrictions: left -.016, right -.005. Wall thickness: left -.023, right -.042. Drop at heel: 3″, drop at comb: 1-3/4″. Weight: 7lbs. 0oz. LOP 14-3/8″. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbls retain an old restored factory-quality blue with muzzle wear, numerous nicks & light handling marks thinning and blending with brown patina from carrying. Receiver retains orig case colors in protected areas but is mostly a silver-gray patina with sharp engraving. Stock is sound with heavily worn checkering, normal minor nicks & dings, some fine grain-checking on left side and retains an oil finish blended with hand-worn patina. It fits receiver and tangs full size. Forend is sound with heavily worn checkering, some minor nicks & dings and retains an oil finish with hand-worn patina, again fitting forend metal full size. Though showing considerable use, this rare gun is a great candidate for a professional restoration. Mechanics are crisp with automatic safety, good ejectors, shiny bores with one tiny shallow pit in right bbl. 4-40876 BDT151 (7,500-12,500)
