WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 DELUXE TAKEDOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal 45-70. SN 89175. Beautiful deluxe rifle with 26” oct bbl, full magazine, and gorgeous center crotch cut walnut checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with black insert and crescent buttplate with trap. It has a Beach’s front sight, a blank in the rear seat, and a Lyman #21 long receiver sight. It is equipped with single set trigger. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter completely identifying this rifle and indicating it was shipped June 17, 1894 to order number 14039. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl retains 96-98% strong bright original blue with very slight edge wear and a tiny spot from a sight elevator. Magazine tube retains about 95% coverage of light plum-blue with strong blue near the forend cap. Receiver retains about 93-95% strong bright original blue with light edge wear, thin on the bottom. Lever retains 30-40% thin case colors, and the hammer about 80%. Wood is sound and retains 95-96% strong bright original varnish, slightly dull at the carry point on the forearm and with a few scratches and light nicks on the buttstock.
