PARIAN HEADED AUTOPERIPATETIKOS W/OB. Mid 1800s, this fine clockwork toy with a Parian head is contained within its original cardboard box. Box lid shows a picture of the doll and directions for use, this example was evidently sold by Joseph Lyon & Co. Boston MA. When wound the doll would move forward slowly in a life like manner. This young lady is dressed in a blue patterned silk dress (older replacement) which complements her molded blond hair and pale coloring. SIZE: 9-1/2″ t. CONDITION: Overall very fine plus, some minor distress to box lid/flaps. 1-9413 (2,500-3,500)
