*BERGMANN SIMPLEX SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. SN 3510. Cal. 8 mm Bergmann. Late production rare pistol with magazine release behind magazine housing with push button on right side. It has blue finish with 2-1/4″ ribbed bbl, half moon wedge shaped front sight & fixed rear sight. Fitted with “Simplex” hard rubber grips & has a thumb safety on left side. This is an improved design over the Model 1896 pistol with staggered column box magazine in a housing in front of trigger guard. As with other Bergmann pistols it never became popular in the United States & few of the limited production were imported. CONDITION: About good. Overall retains 60-70% thin orig finish turning plum to brown on sides, stronger in sheltered areas with fine pitting on left side of frame & magazine housing. Grips have a repaired crack at top rear, otherwise are sound showing moderate to heavy wear. Mechanics are fine, worn dark bore. 4-35331 JR270 (2,000-3,000)
