EXTREMELY RARE MODEL 1897 NO. 5 BERGMANN SEMI-AUTO PISTOL WITH SHOULDER STOCK. SN 260. 7.8 mm Bergmann. Very rare pistol, only 800 made in late 19th century. Blue finish with tapered rnd bbl, square base, dovetailed, barleycorn front sight and 1,000 meter adjustable rear sight. Is fitted with matching numbered box magazine & checkered, Bergmann logo, hard rubber grips. The top of the bolt is marked “PISTOLET BERGMANN / PATENT BREVETE S.G.D.G.” It has beautiful straw colored parts with fire blued sight & safety. This rare pistol is accompanied by it’s orig, matching numbered, russet brown leather, steel frame stock/holster. Very few of these rare pistols are know today and almost none survive with their matching number stock. CONDITION: Extremely fine, all visible numbers matching including magazine and stock. The pistol retains 95-96% strong orig blue with light holster wear on the frame and slight dulling on the grips. Stock is extraordinarily fine, soft and supple, retaining most of its orig oiled finish. Stock iron retains most of its orig factory blue.
