FINE LATE 19TH CENTURY GERMAN BRASS GUARD’S HELMET. Typical dress parade or guard’s helmet with round body and shelved front brim & lobster tail rear edge with fishscale chin strap and an orange & white rosette on right side with a black & white rosette on left side. Front has large crest of the Royal Guard’s unit with a huge brass eagle perched on a German silver-plate on top. Eagle is wearing a crown. It has its orig leather lining. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Metal is sound & free of dents, lightly tarnished. Chin strap leather is broken. Lining is dry & flaking, missing its tie string. 4-35047 (5,000-6,000)
