CONTE & BOEHM CHINA DOLL WITH PIERCED EARS. Late 1860’s glazed china head with elaborate hairdo having six asymmetrical curls on forehead with hair pulled back over ears into a tight bun in back, held in place with a hair ribbon. She is on a newer stuffed body with porcelain lower limbs and is dressed in a red wine colored ball gown with black lace trim and fancy bows. SIZE: 19″ (49cm). CONDITION: Slight opening in seam line below right ear with minor cheek rubs and small black pit mark on nose. 1-8296 RS (500-800)
